Put my faith in the Lord, So I’ll always believe,

So it’s easy to find, I wear my heart on my sleeve,

We’re the last to suggest, But the first to say no,

Keep our thoughts in our head, So no one will know,

The Devil’s trying to grab, and hold me so tight,

I am ready for war, I’m prepared for the fight,

I question myself, More than I’d like to admit,

Asking What Would Jesus Do, as I look at my wrist,

I kept all my morals, The ones they abandoned,

I’m staying the same, while this whole world is changing,

We see what we want, and forget what we have,

We complain about life, while someone waits for their dad,

To see if he comes back, Hoping not in a box,

While protecting our country, overseas in Iraq,

We’re concerned about wealth, and concerned about swagger,

Bet we should all know, Neither one of those matter,

I would choose love, and lose all the rest,

Than to live with it all, with nothing filling my chest,

I know I’m forgiven, By God with his grace,

But will I pay the price, for the mistakes that I made,

I know he will help me, but I still run away,

He probably asks, “Why is he so afraid?”

“I’ve done nothing to hurt him, only tested him twice,

He’s the one who betrayed me, left me for personal vice.”

Somehow God still love me, In ways I can’t comprehend,

But I know if I need it, He’s right there holding my hand,

We need to realize, Jesus died for our sins,

We didn’t deserve, for him to do what he did,

He took all the nails, Wore the crown made of thorns,

Just to give us a friend, To help us walk through the storms,

Life’s gonna be tough, And give us our battles,

Gotta keep our composure, Try not to get rattled,

And if we start to cry we still lift up our head,

Don’t let the tear fall let it dry up instead,

You only live once that’s the motto don’t you know it,

Exactly go and make smart choices cause you don’t wanna blow it,

So it seems, I’ve run out of stuff to say,
